Build Day video created by one of our volunteers
"Build Day" Success
On Saturday, June 9, under a sunny sky, 490 people attended Build Day at Holy Family Elementary School in Chapel Arm. It was an amazing day. It was awesome to see the enthusiasm from so many people. The Playground Committee cannot thank everyone enough for the support we have received from the beginning of this journey. And thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to make our dream come true. Included in the project was the playground, baseball field, basketball court, garden, outdoor classroom, picnic area, and walking trails. The entire project was completed in one day thanks to the hard work of our community.
It was a stipulation of our award from Let Them Be Kids to choose a group or person to honour in our memorial playground. Because we gave the children the gift of a new playground, we chose to honour those children we couldn't share it with....the children of our communities that were taken too soon. We created a memorial garden and asked all families to plant a flower in memory of their child that had passed. It was a heart breaking, yet beautiful moment. Our hope was to give those families a happy place to come and remember their children.
We called the playground Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

Prep Day Underway
Many volunteers came out today to start the site prep for the Big Day,
which is only two sleeps away. Unfortunately, the rain, drizzle and fog
came as well. But that is not stopping anyone. Thanks so much to
everyone who is lending a hand. The community support is overwhelming.
