On Saturday, March 17, we held a dance at the Community Centre in Long Harbour as a fundraiser for the playground fund. Over 100 people came to show their support and have a good time. We raised $875.75.
We would like to thank the Community Centre Committee in Long Harbour for allowing us to use the building free of charge. The committee decorated the building and even waived the clean up charge and they cleaned it all up for us. A special thank you to Muriel and Bob Keating.
Sharon Power (Rockwood) provided the music for the evening. Sharon waived her DJ fee to show her support of the playground project. Sharon, we can't thank you enough. The music was great and everyone had a great time.
At the end of the night, Lorne Power of K & L Auto Services Ltd., Chapel Arm, came to Long Harbour with a bus to bring people home to Chapel Arm, Norman's Cove and Long Cove. Everyone on the bus paid $10 each for the ride and K & L Auto Services Ltd. donated the entire amount collected back to the playground fund.
